Aerial IQ designs and manufactures tethered UAV surveillance systems for defence and law enforcement deployments.
We are hiring an Assembly and Integration Engineer for the tether station and winch team to build winch mechanical structures, drive systems, and housings, and to wire and harness them to schematic.
You will integrate mechanical and electrical sub assemblies, run functional and performance tests on the units you build, and fix fit, wiring, and operation issues on the line.
The role suits someone hands on and precise, who works cleanly to standardised procedures and keeps accurate build records.
Responsibilities
- Build and align winch structures, drive systems, and housings to spec
- Wire, harness, and install electrical components to schematic
- Integrate mechanical and electrical sub-assemblies
- Run functional and performance tests on completed units
- Diagnose and fix fit, wiring, and operation issues on the line
- Work to standardised assembly procedures and hit production targets
- Keep build records, report design or component discrepancies
Must Have
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Ability to work from office / workshop / field location as required
- 2+ years hands-on electromechanical assembly
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Soldering, crimping, and cable management
- Hand and power tools multimeter, DSO, load bank for basic test
- Assembly-line or manufacturing-floor experience
Nice to have
- Tethered UAV or winch / drive-system assembly experience
- IPC harness / wiring standards
- Fault-finding with DSO and load bank
- Strong analytical skills
