Aerial IQ India Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a UAV Assembly Engineer Intern to support the assembly, testing, root cause analysis, repair, and production documentation of drone systems.
The role is hands-on and suitable for final-year students or recent graduates who want practical exposure to UAV hardware, electromechanical assembly, flight controllers, BLDC motors, ESCs, LiPo batteries, wiring harnesses, and quality checks.
The intern will work closely with the engineering and production team to assemble UAV components, perform basic testing, maintain QC records, and support repair or servicing activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in UAV assembly, including frame integration, motor mounting, ESC installation, flight controller setup, GPS fitting, power module installation, and wiring harness routing.
- Perform soldering, crimping, cable routing, and basic electrical assembly as per design and safety standards.
- Support BLDC motor testing, propeller balancing, thrust testing, LiPo battery handling, and basic health checks.
- Maintain QC reports, test data, production records, and inventory tracking sheets.
- Identify and report faulty or damaged components during assembly, testing, and repair.
- Assist in UAV repair and servicing, including motor, ESC, arm, wiring, and component replacement.
- Coordinate with engineering, inventory, and testing teams for production documentation and issue reporting.
Must Have
- Diploma, B.Tech, or B.E. in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Aerospace, Electrical, or related field.
- Ability to work from office / workshop / field location as required
- Basic knowledge of electronics and UAV components.
- Understanding of BLDC motors, ESCs, LiPo batteries, power distribution systems, and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to use basic hand tools, soldering tools, crimping tools, and multimeters.
- Basic Excel knowledge for reporting, QC records, and test data entry.
- Good mechanical assembly skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in a hands-on production and testing environment.
- Passion for UAVs, drones, robotics, or defence technology.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Pixhawk, ArduPilot, Betaflight, or similar flight controller platforms.
- Exposure to firmware flashing, sensor calibration, and basic flight controller setup.
- Experience with drone assembly, RC aircraft, robotics projects, or college UAV projects.
- Basic understanding of thrust testing, propeller balancing, and motor performance validation.
- Awareness of LiPo battery safety, charging, storage, and handling procedures.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
- Prior internship, workshop, or project experience in UAVs, robotics, electronics, or mechatronics.
